In the disunited states, no person of color—especially not a girl whose body reimagines flight—is safe. A quest for Freedom has brought former Muleseed Jellybean “Ji-ji” Silapu to D.C., aka Dream City, the site of monuments and memorials—where, long ago, the most famous Dreamer of all time marched for the same cause. As Ji-ji struggles to come to terms with her shocking metamorphosis and her friends, Tiro and Afarra, battle formidable ghosts of their own, the former U.S. capital decides whose dreams it wants to invest in and whose dreams it will defer. The four big chickens who were afraid of everything in their wellreceived debut, Big Chickens, are now feeling all cooped up, so they set off to find the farmhouse. But where, the hapless hens wonder, is it? First they find a doghouse (loud barking!); then they run into a tractor (ewww, dirty!); and then they stomp into the barn (wild horses!). Who knew the farmhouse was right under their beaks the whole time? Sidesplitting silliness abounds in this second riotously funny read-aloud by Leslie Helakoski, once again illustrated with Henry Cole?s boisterous art.

"As a vegan, the only chickens I consume are Savage's. I never miss a meal."-Dan Piraro, cartoonist of Bizarro We've all been forced to endure jobs we don't like. We get up, go to work, go to bed, and do it again. No one knows these pains better than Doug Savage, whose dream of being a cartoonist was eclipsed by his ho- hum office job. That is, until he started doodling chicken cartoons on Post-its and turned them into one of the Internet's most popular cartoon blogs. Savage Chickens is a collection of cartoons starring Doug's beloved chickens and their officemates that will get a laugh out of even the most jaded number-crunching colleague. Doug blends cynicism, optimism, and interactive activities to create a portable pep talk for the overworked and underappreciated that will keep you sane-and amused- during the morning bus ride, the meeting-filled Monday, the tenth load of laundry, the bathroom break, or the red-eye to the coast. A sleuthing team pursues purloined pigeons—and finds a dead body—in this “captivating” mystery set in a 1920s English village (Publishers Weekly). One would hardly call them birds of a feather, but thrill-seeking American adventuress Beryl Helliwell and quietly reserved Brit Edwina Davenport do one thing very well together—solve murders . . . Sharing lodging in the sleepy English village of Walmsley Parva has eased some of the financial strain on the two old school chums, but money is still tight in these lean years following the Great War. So when the local vicar—and pigeon-racing club president—approaches them with a private inquiry opportunity, the ladies eagerly accept. There's been a spot of bother: the treasurer has absconded with the club’s funds and several prized birds. Beryl and Edwina hope to flush out the missing man by checking his boardinghouse and place of employment at the coal mine. But when they visit the man's loft, they find their elusive quarry lying in white feathers and a pool of crimson blood—the only witnesses cooing mournfully. Beryl and Edwina aren’t shy about ruffling a few feathers as they home in on their suspects, but they had better find the killer fast, before their sleuthing career is cut short . . . Praise for Murder in an English Village "With its strong sense of place and time in post-World War I England, this will be welcomed by fans of Frances Brody’s Kate Shackleton mysteries."—Library Journal (starred review) “A spectacular series launch.” —Publishers Weekly (starred review)

Uber and Lift drivers should be employees or independent contractors? Neither they should be APP-cooperators instead, controlling their APP. This new edition of my book Coop Made in USA, first released in 2011, includes 79 videos, all active when connected to the internet, most of them realized by the cooperators. Still, with some surprises, I added them to make the content less boring, more entertaining, and lively. I added a section on Electric cooperatives and their new role in bridging the rural divide to bring the internet to rural America, a major issue right now for a large part of the population in rural America. I also added a section on recent developments in cooperatives, with the initiatives of the Evergreen Cooperatives and the Cleveland Foundation, and the cooperation by the USW with the Spanish Mondragon cooperatives. They are models of new ways the cooperative movement takes shape, outside of old established models. I open a debate on what is real Innovation in the world in which we live: it's only a new model of smartphone or an idea from a country kid is equally important for society? Who has an interest in convincing us that only a NEW PRODUCT deserves the title to be innovative? The billionaires backing the company that makes the product? The Lusty Lady Theater gets a full video coverage, it's past history now, but what they achieved stays for future memory. I apologize with all the existing cooperators for the requests and suggestions I give them: they do not want to be a critique but rather a stimulus to do even better a job that I consider very successfully well done.
